DETAILS OF PROCESS
Block printed by me one teepee and one river at a time with a non-toxic water-based textile ink on medium weight, creamy white linen fabric that will become softer with each washing. Printed in a fun citrus green & dove grey ink. Ink is left to cure for 24-48 hours and then heat set for color fastness.
I also iron each tea towel so it will arrive to you looking it's best!
Just in case you aren’t sure what block printing is here is wiki answers definition:
"Block Printing" or "Woodblock Printing" is a method used to print text, images or patterns on textiles and later paper. This method was widely used throughout East Asia and originating in China in antiquity.
How it worked:
Patterns and letters were carved into wooden blocks, so that the letter or pattern is chiseled and protrudes so to speak from the wooden block.
These blocks are then coated with Ink, and brought pressed firmly and evenly onto the paper or cloth.

BLOCK-PRINT NOTE
Printed by hand. The look of the block-printing does not have the opaque look of a screen print. Please see photo close-ups to see that the color of the fabric does show through a bit and a weathered look is what is achieved. Therefore, due to the nature of the hand block-printing please expect some variations and “imperfections” . It’s these “imperfections” that I love and that lend to it’s charm and hand-made quality!
MADE TO ORDER
I want you to be very happy with your towel so please allow approximately 4-5 days for me to print & prepare your towel for shipping.
FUSS-FREE CARE
Toss into a cold, gentle cycle. Hang or lay to dry or tumble dry on low or no-heat.
For a crisper look iron on the linen setting on the non-printed side. However, a few wrinkles adds to the charm and the ease of these hardworkers!
MY FRIENDLY-NO WORRIES RETURN POLICY
Your customer experience & the heart-crafted quality of my items are my priorities. From the moment I receive your order until the moment you receive your package, I pride myself on making every step of this experience exceptional.
Please keep in mind that every item is handprinted by me not by machines. Variations & slight imperfections are to be expected. These "imperfections" make each towel truly unique and one of a kind!
However, if for any reason you are not happy with your experience or purchase, please do not hesitate to let me know via email at tania@shopindobay.com within 2-3 days of receiving your order and I will work with you to ensure your happiness!
Add a bit of functional whimsy to your home or the home of someone you know.
